The work is a star shaped panel coated with the colour that appears to glow in its gradation from deep orange to rich cerise. The work comes from the artist’s serie called “Flats” and the title is referring to the backgrounds in theatre or film sets. “A line-up of sunburned orange and red-painted, stucco-coated wooden panels meant to look like the Spanish revival-style window and door frames used as sets during Hollywood’s Golden Age that he calls Flats.”
