Tom Sandberg – Photographs

This exhibition is the first major presentation in which paramount themes for this artist are studied in depth. Sandberg consistently works on a black-white scale, and his images balance between provocative plays of form and association-evoking contextual dimensions. The exhibition affords great insight into the artist’s development throughout the past twenty years. Close to sixty pictures, created over a long period in both large and small format are shown, but the main focus is on work from recent years. In connection with the exhibition NRK (Norwegian National Television) has produced a documentary film about the artist, to be shown in the week following the opening of the exhibition. A comprehensive book, with the main essay by the well-known art writer Gary Michael Dault is coming out. In connection with the exhibition a photo seminar will take place on Thursday, April 6 with Swedish photographer Hasse Persson as the main lecturer.
